Newsroom Pub is your neighborhood pub mixed with 19th century charm. Home to the Milwaukee Press Club since 2000, Newsroom Pub is filled with rich-history. The Milwaukee Press Club’s collection of more than 1,200 famous autographs cover the walls.
Find us downtown across from the historic Pabst Theatre and Milwaukee Repertory Theater in Milwaukee’s entertainment district, just off the ever-popular Water Street.
This nineteenth-century elegant dining room was restored and transformed in 2000 to Newsroom Pub.
The Pub itself features rich woodwork, a beautiful century-old bar elegantly restored, a fireplace, and is home to Anubis the Cat, the Milwaukee Press Club’s mascot. The adjacent room holds the Milwaukee Press Club’s Newsmaker Luncheons and many other professional and social gatherings throughout the year.
Most significantly, Newsroom Pub is home to one of the most interesting known collections of signature plaques of dignitaries, celebrities, sports figures, and political figures, including most U.S. Presidents since the Milwaukee Press Club’s inception in 1885.
Around 300 framed celebrity autographs were retrieved from the Golda Meir Library’s archive and displayed again for the public, on permanent loan during the restoration in 2000.
Take over Newsroom Pub for your shower, rehearsal dinner, or wedding reception for a truly unique experience. Our space can accommodate up to 150 people, with bar and catering service provided by SafeHouse.
